Delivery Policy

Last Updated: January 18, 2025

This Delivery Policy explains your delivery obligations as a seller and your rights and responsibilities when using our Pudo delivery service. This policy complies with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECT Act) and Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) of South Africa.

This policy is a part of our Terms of Use. By registering as a seller on our platform, you're agreeing to this policy and our Terms of Use.

1. Delivering Your Items

Sellers are responsible for packaging and delivering their sold items to buyers through our designated Pudo service points. You are ultimately responsible for ensuring that your buyers receive their orders.

By selling on our platform, you agree to:

  • Provide an accurate "dispatches from" address within South Africa.
  • Specify your delivery costs and processing times in your listings.
  • Dispatch items promptly after they are sold. Prompt delivery means that you dispatch each item within 3 working days of purchase, unless you specify otherwise in your processing time or agree to a different delivery period with the buyer through Messages.
  • Comply with all South African delivery and customs regulations.
  • Deliver to the Pudo collection point selected by the buyer at checkout.
  • Mark the order as dispatched only after you have actually delivered it to a Pudo point. When you mark an order as dispatched, the buyer will receive a notification.
  • Charge appropriate delivery fees as per the Pudo rate card, or offer free delivery.
  • Provide valid tracking information for every order, which will be automatically generated by the Pudo system.

2. Proof of Delivery

In the event an order does not arrive, you must be prepared to provide valid proof of dispatch. Valid proof of dispatch must show that the item was delivered to a Pudo point and was addressed to the collection point selected by the buyer. If a buyer does not receive their order, they may file a case against your shop in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act.

3. Insurance Requirements

Sellers are required to maintain their own insurance coverage for items shipped through Pudo. Pudo does not provide any insurance coverage for shipped items. It is the seller's responsibility to:

  • Maintain adequate insurance coverage for all shipped items
  • Handle all insurance claims for lost or damaged items
  • Provide proof of insurance upon request
  • Process any claims through their own insurance provider

4. Fees

The cost of delivery will depend on:

  • Package weight
  • Package dimensions
  • Distance to collection point
  • Insurance selected

All delivery fees will be displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT as per South African tax regulations.

5. Prohibited Items

The following items may not be shipped through Pudo:

  • Dangerous goods as defined by South African law
  • Perishable items
  • Live animals
  • Illegal substances
  • Weapons and explosives
  • Any items prohibited by South African postal regulations

6. Returns

Sellers must honor returns in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, which provides consumers with a 7-day cooling-off period for goods purchased through electronic transactions. Return shipping costs will be handled as per your shop's return policy and must comply with South African consumer protection laws.
